This past Sunday, Pastor Robert Griswold brought the message “The Gospel Rooster” from Luke 22:60-62. Pastor Robert had shared this message earlier this month but had many request for him to preach the message again and The Lord allowed him to do Sunday morning. The rooster entered into the ministry of Christ. He was called and used by God. We need to be set apart like the rooster. God is calling you just as He did the rooster. God foretold of his crowing. The rooster did what he could. This rooster crowed, he didn’t try to do anything except what he was capable of doing. We have people wanting to do what they can’t. If you are a Christian you are called of God. Ephesians 4:11-12 tells us some are called as evangelists, teachers, Pastors, called by God. It is not about us but about God and lifting Him up. The rooster’s job wasn’t considered important to the world. What you do may not seemed important but we are to do the very best we can at that job. We must serve God fulltime. The rooster’s crowing was necessary. His little bit was must was much with God in it and your little bit is important too. The rooster didn’t wait on anyone else to do their job, he just crowed. (I Cor. 1:18) The rooster didn’t care how he sounded, he wasn’t ashamed, he wanted to be heard for the Lord. We are sinners saved by grace and His hand is on us. The rooster was not ashamed. He crowed for all. Romans 1:16 tells us not to be ashamed of the gospel. The rooster was faithful. He got up whether it was raining or whether he felt like it. We claim to love the Lord but we can’t be found in God’s house. Is anyone hearing you cry out for the Lord? If somebody’s life depended on you or I, would we disappoint them? Be faithful to God! The rooster’s job was not popular. He woke people up. His job sometimes made people mad. A lot of people won’t do anything in church because they can’t have the best job. We are to do the job we are called to do, not to be popular. If you have Jesus you should want everyone to have Him. The rooster never got discouraged. He looked for no excuse. There is no excuse for you being out of church if you are a born again believer in Christ. We are to be working for the Lord and not man. He had a lonely job. His crowing was not encouraged. We need to keep on keeping on for the Lord. Jesus did enough that we could never do enough for Him. The rooster did his job well. He did the best he could. God doesn’t ask you to be something you can’t be. Give God your best and He will make something of it. It must be at the right time. He crowed so Simon Peter could hear it. If you are going to crow do it when you are around someone. God puts people in your path, share Jesus with them. You should long for God to say “well done my good and faithful servant”. The rooster had a touch of God and we need to follow like him.
In our Sunday evening service, the youth choir sang. Brother Darrell shared a video testimony of a young boy who had cancer. He shared his testimony and his love for the Lord. Some of the last words he said were, I want you to be in Heaven with me.
Please help us to pray for the sick, lost, bereaved, and our military. Until next time, may God richly bless you and your family. Know that Jesus loves you and we want you to be in Heaven with us! |
